London has a new luxury hotel and the World has a new luxury hotel brand, in Andaz by Hyatt. A concerted effort to produce a more ‘holistic’ hotel brand sees Andaz being positioned as a luxury ’boutique’ chain for an experienced traveller.
The first outing in London’s Liverpool Street shows Hyatt offering a chain with no check-in lines, not even a front desk, bathrooms which use 80% less water and rooms featuring unrivalled comfort with high end technology. It all sounds very nice and with 2 locations in Manhattan on the way it looks like Andaz could bring a little bit of boutique to the saturated chain hotel market.
It does come at a price though and at a minimum of £275 a night (we couldn’t find a date with a room at that price in the near future) it may be worth considering one of the many independents out there who Andaz have undoubtably taken their lead from, however if it’s pure indulgence your after, this looks like becoming a surefire design classic.
