Ok, ok, just wait a minute, we’re not overly keen on shameless, rich superstars exploiting their own music in the name of marketing either, but this one demands a little more attention, not least as it goes some way to redeeming our disappointment in the new N.E.R.D record. Converse are seemingly sticking heavily to showing off their rock n’ roll heritage and have devised a campaign entitled ‘Three Artists, One Song’ which apparently will see artists as diverse as Deerhunter, Does It Offend You, Yeah? and Gallows along with of course the 3 effortlessly cool individuals who have put together this track, which sees Pharrell ‘Midas Touch’ Williams getting up-beat and funky and not at all croony as he so painfully does on his supergroup’s latest LP.
