Stylish London hotel, The Cavendish, are celebrating Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday and the 46664 concert (which may or may not feature the increasingly unhinged Miss Winehouse) being held in his honour next Saturday in Hyde Park with a South African orange and sugar cane inspired cocktail, created by head barman, Robert Gaggl. We’ve been given an exclusive recipe for this worthy drink that, if the weather begins to pick up again, could be the alcoholic beverage hit of the summer, but with 50% of all proceeds at the Cavendish going to the 46664 charity to raise money to fight AIDS it may well be worth getting down and trying the real thing!

Nelson Mandela ‘46664’ Cocktail;

Ingredients:
20 ml Hennessy VS Cognac
10 ml Cointreau
0.5 ml Harveys Bristol Cream
0.5 ml Sugar Syrup
15 ml Orange Juice
10 ml honey

Method:
Shake all ingredients on ice using a Boston Shaker
Add 10ml honey to the bottom of a Martini glass
Using a strainer, serve straight up
Add a piece of twisted orange peel to garnish
