Having finally shaken the label of Britain’s most annoying TV chef, Jamie went on to confound us all and do a bit of a role reversal, suddenly finding himself as one of our most popular (well, apart from those Sainsbury’s ads). Following the rustic Italian theme of his hugely popular Fifteen restaurants, Mr Oliver has launched the first of a new chain restaurant aiming to bring the same high quality traditional cuisine at affordable everyday prices.

With the first outing in Oxford now open and the next two (Bath and Kingston) set to arrive in September, Jamie’s Italian is hoping to educate the high street with Italian culture with traditional courses of antipasti, pasta dish, ’secondi’ and deserts offering high quality ingredients cooked simply to show off their natural flavours.

The ingredients for these simple, rustic dishes are sourced in the UK and Italy and offer us Devonshire free-range chicken, organic shetland salmon and sustainable squid from the South coast of England alongside specialities such as traditional Milanese Salumi. Unique Italian beers and hand picked Italian wines at really quite reasonable prices ensure that your time in the contemporary designed surroundings will become a night to remember without leaving a long lasting burn on your wallet.
