Every now and again a new brand, restaurant, hotel, artist etc. will walk into our lives and without noticing we will subconsciously fall in love. It can usually be pinpointed to a small number of factors in their make up, namely style, attitude and quality, but above all it’s about their passion for what they do. French label Atelier LaDurance just worship their denim and that is first and foremost what makes them so appealing to us. It’s evident in their attention to detail, the fact that each piece of Atelier LaDurance denim product features a ‘Repair Capsule’, which contains original 2-color brass buttons, a small piece of denim, a small piece of pocket lining plus a thimble. It’s evident in that only small limited runs are produced from their small Provence studio so as not to compromise their years of experience. It’s evident in their use of rare first choice quality denim, manufactured in a century old weaving process and indigo dyed and it’s evident in their fine products. Jeans, jackets and even bags are produced using their finest denim, and even the jumpers and shirts never stray too far from the working garment history of denim, the product they so love.
Having previously released an edition of 25 for uber-cool Parisian retailed, Colette, the latest super-rare, soon to be Ebaying for silly money edition is a numbered run of 50 ‘Atelier La Durance x oki-ni Royston Broken Twill 14oz Selvedge Slim Jean‘, boxed and with little touches such as a ‘Atelier for oki-ni ribbon’ inside the jean and a tab on the back leather patch stating the project. Available for a curiously reasonable £195 and currently on sale from our friends at Oki-ni.
