Well into her 50′s and having spent the last 28 years as a librarian, Dane Anne Donnerup became fascinated with miniature versions of classic furniture on a trip to Vienna. She knew that there was a fantastic history of classic Danish design and quickly set about contacting Fritz Hansen A/S who have the sole rights for producing Arne Jacobsen’s iconic furniture. The rest, as they say, is history and Anne now free of her role in the library is working full time as 1:6 DESIGN, producing perfect 1:6 replicas of classic Jacobsen icons such as the “Seven” chair, “Ant” and the legend that is the “Egg” chair, which has celebrated it’s 50th anniversary this year.
The iconic “Egg” is produced and upholstered in almost the same way as the full-size chair and available with several coverings including the classic colours along with exclusive prints from Kenzo and We Heart Stuff favourite, Paul Smith [pictured]. Next in line for miniaturisation is Arne Jacobsen’s “Swan” chair and the range of products are available worldwide through selected furniture shops, museum shops and shops specialising in innovative design.
