Beware The Moon Wallpaper

Somebody must have been listening last time we complained about not receiving enough ‘cool stuff’ in the post as we were lucky enough recently to receive some gorgeous sample books from a new wallpaper designer, Beware the Moon. High-end, niche and avant garde, Beware the Moon is the brainchild of wallpaper designer John Wakefield and his daughter Louise, who has a background in property renovation and photography. A shared passion for travel and obscure interests such as atomic bombs, plastic guitars, sharks and microlights led to this fruitful creative collaboration, where the pair are aiming to push the industry’s boundaries through subtly outrageous designs and a ‘no expense spared’ approach to achieving their creative vision through unique paints, effects and finishes.

Printed in England by master tradesmen and using pulp from sustainable European forests, it’s clear to see the passion that the pair have for their product, months have been spent perfecting their use of glitter, an industry first, and other such radical techniques such as iridescent inks and holographic undercoats set their wallpaper apart from the pack. The first 3 designs the company is launching with form a loose theme of denial (Ostrich), desire (She) and death/rebirth (Skulls) and comprise a total of 21 colourways between them. Ranging in price from £50 to £210 a roll, according to the costs of ingredients and methods used, Beware the Moon are a high-end boutique company who, as our samples can attest, put quality and originality at the core of their ethos, and with that way of thinking, they can’t go far wrong.
