We received a tweet a few days ago from @warrenbuckley, asking us if we had covered any boutique hotels in Norway, we hadn’t (shame on us), but it did get us thinking… why don’t we open our Twitter account up to requests for things you’d like to see featured over here on the wonderful We Heart. So, that’s exactly what we’re going to do, if you want to see the best bars in Brooklyn or the slickest interiors from Istanbul then just tweet your request through to us on @weheartstuff and we’ll do our best to oblige. In the meantime, here’s Twitter Request #1, the fabulously opulent, and wonderfully named Grims Grenka hotel in Oslo.

Grims Grenka, Oslo

Situated next to the Akershus Fortress in the centre of Oslo, Grims Grenka is the cities first foray into the world of boutique design hotels and it hits the mark straight away. All dark, gothic and so traditionally Norwegian but with a dramatic contemporary chicness that belies it’s ‘Design Hotel‘ status, Grims Grenka has all the usual trappings of a top class urban hotel. It’s slick and sensual Asian influenced restaurant is complete with flaming ornamentation, the exclusive lounge serves sophisticated organic cocktails and the summertime rooftop lounge is an urban oasis with it’s luxurious pillows and house mixologist. The sleek, contemporary rooms offer Wi-Fi, Bang & Olufsen televisions, iPod docks and the obligatory Egyptian cottons, ensuring that once you’ve spent your life savings on a notoriously expensive Oslo night out, you’re at least guaranteed a good nights kip!
