Celebrating 30 years in the business this month, Armand and Martine Hadida have long pioneered high fashion in it’s international capital, since the opening of Armand’s first l’Eclaireur boutique in 1980 on the famed Champs Elysées. Being the first French distributor for the likes of Prada, Helmut Lang, John Galliano, Dries Van Noten and Martin Margiela, the couple have a phenomenal pedigree and as such have spent the last 3 decades continuing to break ground in high concept retail, their latest venture, the recently opened 450 m2 space on rue de Sévigné is certainly no exception. Created in collaboration with esteemed Belgian conceptual artist, Arne Quinze, l’Eclaireur’s latest space is as much interactive installation as it is retail store.
147 video screens, 2 tonnes of wooden planks and countless recycled elements such as printer plates took almost a year to construct into what is now a visually arresting boutique-cum-installation, frankly like no other we have ever have the privilege of witnessing. Along with the much anticipated Microsoft Surface making one of it’s very first Parisian appearances and the traditionally high standard of fashion and accessories mingled with conceptual collectors items from around the world, l’Eclaireur Sévigné is a truly inspired space that has to be seen to be believed…
