Preferring to focus attention on her photography rather than herself, Chinese photographer Li Hui tenderly portrays her exceptional shyness through her work… work that is positively inspired given that she only began dedicating her undivided attention to photography last year. Spending large periods of her childhood with her Grandfather, Hui’s photography subconsciously conveys the quietness of her childhood and maintains a youthful exuberance for exploration and fantasy. Choosing to create portraits without faces, Li Hui hopes to put the viewer into the scene, evoking memories, dreams and fantasies…. and with a trademark soft focus, daydream vision and evocative scenery, who could not want to be a part of her gentle, lonely reverie?
