An oasis of unique style inside the world famous 85-acres of ostentation that is Caesars Palace, Beijing Noodle No. 9 is the über-casino’s newest, and decidedly most interesting, restaurant. Designed by by Japanese studio ‘design spirits co., ltd’, Beijing Noodle No. 9’s entrance is flanked by gigantic fish tanks, that immediately deliver the sophisticated surreality of what you are about to witness once inside. The central Arabic pattern, vivid white, and subtle pastel tones of the spices lend themselves to a kind of over-powering, yet strangely calming minimalism that offers a surprising womb-like serenity… it’s rather hard to summarise thanks to it’s frightfully original design… so we fired up the thesaurus and couldn’t stop ourselves from describing it as…. phantasmagorical! You can bet your nelly that’ll be the first… and last time you see that word on this website, but then it may well be the first and last time you see a restaurant this unique….

Mosque are decorated (in a similar fashion) with elaborate tiles. The idea is the complexity will be too much for the human mind and help you trancend the reality of this world. It’s the very first thing I thought of when I saw the pictures of the noodle shop. It does say they use an arabic pattern. Anyone know if this was a source of inspiration in the design?

We actually eat over there once, food is good, but the drinks are expensive… 8 oz . saki for $35, the cheapest ….. and why saki in a Chinese food place?
