You’ll have probably guessed, but we’re not really much ones for science fiction over here at We Heart, all being said however, it would be fairly impossible not to recognise such an iconic form from the big screen as Star Wars’ AT-AT Walker’s… their long mechanical legs apparently “used by the Old Republic and the Galactic Empire for ground assault or transport” – oh thank you Wikipedia. Three young Swiss based designers, all graduates of the University of Art & Design of Lausanne, going under the name of ‘Lifegoods‘ seemingly felt that the Galactic Empire’s dog-like robotic killers were suitable inspiration for a contemporary design object… and do you know what? It looks like they were right! Tall, slick and sophisticated, their unique interpretation turns the subjects futuristic theme on it’s head and delivers a graceful, positively retro floor lamp that appeals to so many more than just fans of lasers, spaceships and camp robots….
