Challenging, kitsch and brash, with more than a liberal splashing of irreverence, Luke Twigger‘s ‘The Skullmate’ is a cheeky play on the traditions of British hand crafts, that “can be used to store anything (preferably colourful things) from bons bons to pasta”. We particularly love the removable cushioned “brain” that is “made in the finest of vintage fabrics, for storing pointy things or for getting a cheeky snooze”…….

The Skullmate is not Twigger’s first attempt at challenging the traditions of ceramic design – his series of mini earthenware speaker systems, including ‘Aural Pussy’ and ‘Cherubs Are Most Definitely Multi-instrumentalists’ are equally anti-establishment and, of course, equally brilliant…….
