Somewhere between the fantasy illustration of anime, Liberace directing a science fiction film and sitting through a Lady Gaga concert after consuming a healthy dose of ‘special’ mushrooms, Love Land Invaders is a conceptual art, fashion and photography project by duo Ralph Lagoi and Kate Lace – recent graduates of Cologne’s Academy of Media Arts. Japan’s fabulously tasteless love hotels are the perfect setting for the duo’s masks, jewellery, clothing and ribbons – all of which were designed exclusively for this wildly luscious fashion/art photo series.
