Ever suckers for exposed concrete, we were bowled over when we saw these elegantly stacked houses – courtesy of Moongyu Choi + Ga.a Architects. Answering the issue of poor planning, building restrictions and bad design in Korean suburbs, Choi’s W Houses project offers a decidedly stylish solution for the many Koreans who yearn for their own suburban houses. With brick, wood and zinc resting alongside the exposed concrete, the detached houses open to all sides on each floor, giving a light airy feel to the interiors, the rears open to a communal garden area that promotes a sense of community. Enlightening, functional and devastatingly good looking, Choi’s W Houses are certainly a step above the standard suburban homes of the UK…
