We’ve featured the brilliant London based “multi-disciplinary art and design practice” Troika previously – experimenting with mechanisms, and with light – here they’re using custom Swarovski crystals – as part of Swarovski’s sponsorship of Design Miami 2010 – to experiment with both light, and mechanics, producing a spellbinding installation. Comprised of 50 ceiling-mounted, LED devices that emanate from a mechanical arm, pushing light through the custom-cut Swarovski crystal lens – that act like prisms – casting beautiful ‘light drops’ onto the gallery floor.
