You’ll perhaps know that we’re more than a little in love with the utterly perfect electro-pop that Sweden’s coolest export has unleashed with such proliferative force this year and, if you’ve a keen eye for design – as you will do, you’re reading our site after all – then you’ll have been as suitably impressed with the artwork of this year’s three Body Talk releases as you will have been staggered by the music inside. Along with conceiving the mesmerising video for Indestructible, Australian artist Lucy McRae has art directed the three album covers, using what the body obsessed artist, classically trained dancer and architect, refers to as “body architecture”, where she “invents and builds structures on the skin that re-shape the human silhouette”. From the third album’s seven layer paper pixel textile of Robyn – in which the real Robyn loses herself inside – to the revolutionary Indestructible video that sees 1.2 kilometres of transparent plumbing tubing, pumping 40 litres of glycerol through it, knitted with fishing wire to the pop icon’s body, Lucy McRae’s unique visions have ensured that the visuals match every bit of Robyn’s staggering 2010 output.
