pop art inspired space fuses retail with a community experience...

4010 Telekom Shop, Cologne

The second opening in a series of community focused stores from Deutsche Telekom is the latest in a long line of engaging retail concepts that we’ve featured recently – confirming that meaningful experiences for your customers are most definitely the ‘in-thing’ in retail. With the notion of the shop as an atelier – a “place of art, community, exchange and experiments” – 4010 seek to create unique environments for each of their stores based upon their locations, the first in Berlin was heavily influenced by street art, whilst this Cologne based store has offered a nod to the city’s Ludwig Museum – founded by Peter and Irene Ludwig, who put together the biggest pop art collection outside the United States – with its decidedly pop art inspired interiors. Elsewhere a mix of modern and vintage furniture offer the space a relaxed vibe that, much like the rest of this inspired space, is so blissfully at odds with the pressured, hard sell environment of many telecoms stores…
