The likes of Philippe Starck’s Louis Ghost chair and Piero Lissoni’s Lizz chair were celebrated alongside some 50 years worth of design icons at Kartell‘s tribute to their home city at last week’s Salone del Mobile. The Italian furniture giant cast aside Milan conventions, opting for a refreshingly energetic display.

Where other big names were rolling out cutting-edge designer collaborations, multimedia spectacles and hosting decidedly pretentious talks on visual language – Kartell rolled out a vivacious homage to old-school Hollywood, glamour and celebration, with a product installation that was closer to Las Vegas’ famed neon graveyard than a contemporary interiors display.
