If you go down to the woods today, you’re in for a big surprise. Okay, they’re not exactly woods – they’re the exquisite grounds that make up Antwerp’s open air contemporary art gallery, Middelheim Museum – but, nevertheless, you’re in for a big surprise. For this Summer, Austrian artist Erwin Wurm‘s artworks take over this unusual gallery. His surreal and expressive works transforming the grounds into an acid-dipped fantasy world, with local fashion designer, Walter Van Beirendonck collaborating on a series of “Performative Sculptures”, where performers will take the guise of sculptures in and around the artworks. Fascinating, fun and thoroughly engaging, even the hardiest of contemporary art naysayers would be hard pushed not to enjoy this magical collection…
