In small towns up and down the country, Roxy Club is a byword for a fabulously horrifying night. Vomit stained 16 year olds, muscle boys with their perma-tanned queens pulling out each other’s extensions and 40-something grandmas on the pull, all set to the soundtrack of gay club eurodance versions of the Radio One top twenty. But this is Brazil. Home of beautiful weather, beautiful football and beautiful people. A club called Roxy is not going to resemble a post-apocalyptic Jeremy Kyle nightmare, it’s going to be really, really, really sexy… of course.

Geometric graphics run throughout the club – that kind of resembles a gigantic sci-fi bee’s nest – with bold, sumptuous colours lending it a futuristic yet decidedly opulent aura.
