K Studio, the architects behind Alemagou, a beautiful Mykonos beach bar that we featured earlier this year, have come up trumps again; this time with an equally refined pizzeria/trattoria in the centre of Athens. With the aim of harnessing the unique atmosphere of a traditional Italian courtyard, the team have used materials and colours that evoke that most elegant and serene of settings.

Travertine stone, vintage chairs, reclaimed wooden shutters, cement tiles and stucco plastered walls and ceiling are all accompanied by the beautiful biro illustrations of mural artist Joanna Burtenshaw in the flawless execution of this courtyard concept. With charmingly eclectic lighting, an assorted arrangement of chairs and Mediterranean hues thrown into the charismatic mix, local boys K Studio have delivered another fine example of effortless elegance…
