It may be in Angel, but there’s nothing angelic about this classy take on the classic dive bar. You can imagine a thousand well-refreshed punters sliding to the floor from the booth seats, upholstered in distressed olive leather. Parts of the wall and bar are nailed on, as if hastily replaced after a fracas. The floor looks easily mopped.

However, Rattlesnake is a dive bar not for brawling London rednecks, but for the discerning drinking denizen. Take the bar stools, for example. You wouldn’t want to have had too many sherbets perched on one of those. There are more classic rock 12” sleeves on the wall than even the biggest music anorak could name (that might be an idea for a drinking game). There’s also some pretty nice stage-style lighting and some hi-tech to go with all the lo-fi.
