Radio Bar at ME London

Turn on, tune in and chill out with capital's best new view...

On the tenth floor and via a dedicated express lift, we arrived in Radio at hip new hotel; ME London. With low ceilings and an open plan design, the decor isn’t at all fussy – created and operated by hospitality experts THE ONE Group, Radio boasts 180-degree panoramic views of the city. Named in tribute to Marconi House, the former home of the BBC, the triangular structure that is ME London is wonderfully unique. I’m glad the focus went on highlighting the shape and exposing the terrace in the bar.

Along the wrap-around rooftop there’s a choice of comfy and cosy cabanas and terrace seating. We happily wrapped ourselves in Radio blankets and stared out across the sparkly Thames, Waterloo Bridge and beyond. Sampling Radio’s playful cocktails (we test-drove quite a few, truth be told), we’re surprised by the reasonable (for London) tenner-a-pop price-line, and with names like Thames River Ice Tea and On Top of ME – the giggles started and didn’t really stop. Our brilliant waitress Daiga looked after us all night, and told us how busy Radio had been since opening just weeks ago.

Not surprising really, with Covent Garden just a stones throw away and the kind of view that you’re not likely to tire from, Radio is definitely one of Central London most exciting new bars. With spring and summer (hopefully) on their way, booking will be essential!
