Copy That

Xeroxed photo-club continue the revitalising of forgotten print format...

Just like the music compilations that inspired the name, Now That’s What I Call Photography 2 is a collection of 30 artists’ work, but this is a collection to be seen and not heard – no Savage Garden or Nelly Furtado here, but rather a selection of photography brought together under the curatorial production of The Photocopy Club and creative agency Protein.

If you’ve been paying attention to We Heart for a while, you’ll know all about The Photocopy Club, but if you’re just joining us, don’t worry, it’s not hard to catch up. The two organisations have picked 15 artists each to populate the walls of the gallery at 18 Hewett Street, resulting in a mouthwatering mono banquet on which to feast your eyes, all produced on a trusty photocopier. The breadth of genre on display reflects the popularity of this brilliantly accessible medium, from portraiture to action shots, and there will be an open wall for visitors to submit their own work for viewing. Works are also available to buy for a fiver or less. The event ends 7th July.
