super rare sneaker store... within a store...

Designed by Wilson Brothers and Brinkworth, the layout of Berwick Street’s Foot Patrol is every bit as unique as the perfectly curated stock inside. The understated, street-side façade paves way for a brilliantly conceived ’store within a store’ – all recycled scaffold board and satin black steel fixtures – that seemingly floats within the ‘outer’ store. As for the stock, it’s high grade, sneaker-geek stuff… SMU (special make-up) versions of new and classic sports shoes, along with unique Foot Patrol products are handpicked by Michael Kopelman, original Foot Patrol owner and current Creative Director – needless to say, the fusion of cutting-edge interiors and top quality stock will ensure this is THE sneaker destination store for years to come…

We’re big fans of East London’s super-cool creative/fashion label, Lazy Oaf, and have long been admirers – we featured their Southend-on-Sea, trashy seaside SS10 Look Book back in May – of their wonderfully bright graphic tees and über-kitsch stationery and accessories. It’s no surprise then, that we’re suitably impressed with the latest additions to their collection, and our favourite by far has to be this wonderfully over the top, rainbow coloured rucksack. If you really couldn’t give two hoots whether or not brown is the new black and are yet to look up the dictionary definition of refined – and let’s be frank, that’s just no fun is it? – then this super statement of happiness and easy-going attitude is most certainly for you…

Pushing the envelope with authentic sub-cultural streetwear cool since 2006, London based collective toomuchposse! are a passionate boutique label with a “love affair” for street culture, design and creativity. We’re loving the effortlessly cool designs that adorn their latest tee collection, delivering an unabashed late 70s, early 80s counter-culture vibe that’s completely infectious….

We love East London’s über-hip outfitters, Lazy Oaf and we also love the vividly brilliant photography of Dan Wilton – we were therefore suitably blown away when their latest Lookbook – their super-cool SS10 collection, shot on Southend-on-Sea’s seafront by Wilton – dropped into our inbox. Kind of a wonderfully “fuck you” Brit alternative to those preppy New England shoots you see in GQ, the label’s beautifully illustrative style – bright, bold graphic prints – looks better than ever with the backdrop of the brash, trashy British seaside, so perfectly captured by Wilton…..
heavy dose of art & drama injected into the cult of 'pop-up'.....

As many of the larger brands around the world continue to deliver staid, unadventurous – often undecorated – ‘pop-up’ stores, the once stimulating cult of guerrilla stores has been written off by many as somewhat of a fad… a tired one at that. It’s enlightening then to see the concept presented with style, energy and a distinct hallmark of class. Belgian fashion label, A.F. Vandevorst, have done just that here with their world war era field hospital concept for this Antwerp pop-up… the intention of the ‘Aktion’ guerrilla stores is to present the installation within unoccupied premises around the world – including boutiques, laundrettes and bakeries – for a maximum of three months at a time. The Antwerp store has recently closed, however it’s thought that Brussels could be next….

Our obsession with the moon and it’s phases as a guide of time, human behaviour and natural patterns date back to prehistoric and ancient cultures, and it’s this emotional relationship with the moon’s cycle that is explored in this conceptual piece from internationally diverse industrial design studio, The Emotion Lab. Hailing from México, Australia and Spain, The Emotion Lab is a four strong collective of up and coming designers that share a passion to “generate and provoke emotions and experiences which you will never forget” through their products…. unique, mysterious and beautifully enigmatic, their ‘Moonwatch’ delivers on their promise to provoke emotion perfectly…..
